Savannah Guthrie was “so touched” by Allison Janney’s tribute to her missing mom, Nancy Guthrie, at Monday evening’s Emmys 2026.
“It was her moment, her triumph,” the “Today” show co-host told viewers Tuesday morning. “For her to sit and just take a moment to think about our family [meant a lot].”
The 54-year-old, whose mother was abducted from her Arizona home in February, added, “I never let a moment pass if I get one to talk about my mom and how I miss her.”
Savannah said her “whole family” is still “in such pain” seven months into Nancy’s disappearance.
“We need help,” she continued. “Thank you, Allison Janney, for remembering us and giving me an opportunity for me to renew that call. We just want our mom home [to] give her a proper goodbye. That’s all.”
Her co-host Willie Geist shared the FBI tip line as Savannah tearfully urged people to call anonymously with information for a reward.
“Our family needs you,” she pleaded.
Janney, notably, did not mention Nancy in her official acceptance speech for the best supporting actress in a drama series award — but was asked about her “compassion and concern” for the 84-year-old in the press room.
The “Diplomat star” said she thought about Nancy “every day.”
Janney, 66, added, “I … think about the loss and what Savannah and her family are going through. It truly just took over.
“I don’t think I’m alone too,” the “West Wing” alum, who has taken home seven Emmys statuettes in previous years, continued. “I think all of America was thinking about her.”
The following morning, Geist called the moment a “beautiful expression of sympathy.”
Weatherman Al Roker chimed in, “Allison Janney speaks for almost everybody out there in America. We appreciate her bringing that to us.”
Savannah last begged for her mom’s return at the six-month mark.
“If you know anything — anything at all — please come forward,” she urged her followers in August, writing that her loved ones’ “hearts are in ruins.”
