Savannah Guthrie has officially pulled out of co-hosting the 2026 Olympics opening ceremony amid the desperate search for her mom, Nancy Guthrie.
“Savannah will not be joining us at the Olympics as she focuses on being with her family during this difficult time,” an NBC spokesperson told Page Six on Tuesday.
“Our hearts are with her and the entire Guthrie family as the search continues for their mother. We will share additional information about our Opening Ceremony coverage plans soon.”
Page Six exclusively reported on Monday that Savannah, who was set to co-host the Winter Olympics opening ceremony in Italy on Friday, was not likely to attend as the search intensified.
“There is no way Savannah will be there,” an NBC source told us of the “Today” show host.
Savannah, 54, was set to co-host alongside Terry Gannon, with Olympic gold medalist Shaun White expected to join them.
She was also set to be in Italy for a week to record “Today” alongside former co-host Hoda Kotb.
As Page Six previously reported, Nancy was last seen Saturday evening following a family dinner, but failed to show up for church the following morning.
She was officially reported missing around 11 a.m. local time on Sunday.
Authorities believe Nancy, 84, was “taken from the home against her will, possibly in the middle of the night,” a Pima County Sheriff’s Department spokesperson previously told Page Six.
“That includes possible kidnapping or abduction,” they added. “This is an elderly woman in her mid-80s who suffers from ailments… she couldn’t go 50 yards.”
According to 911 dispatch audio obtained by Fox News on Tuesday, the Guthrie matriarch “has high blood pressure, [a] pacemaker and cardiac issues,” though she is “of sound mind.”
On Tuesday, “Today” show hosts Jenna Bush Hager and Sheinelle Jones addressed the stunning disappearance of Savannah’s mom during “Today With Jenna & Sheinelle.”
“I’ll just tell you guys behind the scenes…we’re all rattled,” Jones said during the episode.
“We’re all shaken. We all recognize that we have a job to do. But as you guys know, we’re family around here, and it’s not just something that we say. We’ve all been a little rattled.”
Bush Hager called Nancy “a woman who is loved deeply by everyone here at ‘Today.’”
Meanwhile, Kotb shared a message of hope in the form of a rainbow image on Monday.
