Lisa Clark has joined Sky as commissioning executive on the hotly anticipated Saturday Night Live UK.
Clark, an EP on hit shows such as Mortimer & Whitehouse: Gone Fishing, Top Gear and NightWatch, will be working with the unscripted entertainment team under Phil Edgar-Jones to help shape the series for Sky audiences.
Her producer credits include cult favourites like My Dad Wrote A Porno, Shooting Stars, The League of Gentlemen Live Again!, and Vic & Bob’s Big Night Out. She’s also held senior roles at BBC Entertainment and LWT, helping to shape the landscape of British comedy for over two decades.
It comes after two-time Emmy winner James Longman was named lead producer on the British installment of NBC’s venerable hit sketch show. He was announced in November alongside Liz Clare as SNL UK as director and Daran Jonno Johnson as head writer.
Edgar-Jones, executive director of unscripted originals at Sky, said: “The SNL UK team are made up of the very best producers, writers, and department heads in the industry, so I am thrilled to have landed a true TV legend in Lisa Clark as Sky’s commissioning executive. Lisa has an incredible track record working collaboratively with some of the finest comedy talent in the business and will be a huge asset to the production.”
Clark added: “This is an incredible team to be a part of. I have always loved the thrill of live television and there is no greater stage for live comedy than SNL.”
Sky Original Saturday Night Live UK will launch on Sky and streaming service NOW. More details on the show’s U.K. debut, including cast, hosts, musical guests and premiere date, will be announced soon.
