Salman Khan teamed up with director AR Murugadoss for the first time for Sikandar. The movie produced by Sajid Nadiadwala released on March 30. Salman Khan kept up with the tradition and returned to the big screens on the occasion of Eid. The buzz around the film was immense as the teaser and trailer added to the excitement of fans. In terms of box office, Salman Khan-starrer is now inching close to Rs 100 crore mark. Check out its full box office report here:

As per trade site Sacnilk.com, Sikandar that also stars Rashmika Mandanna maintained a good hold at the box office on its day 3. It witnessed a dip in numbers but it was expected. It is natural for films to witness a dip in numbers over the weekdays. As per the report, the early estimates suggest that the film made around Rs 19 crore on first Tuesday, i.e., day 3. Instead of a Friday, the makers chose to release the movie on a Sunday in order to be in-sync with the Eid festival. On its opening day, the film made around Rs 26 crore at the box office. The second day, on Monday, the film witnessed growth as it made around Rs 29 crore at the box office. By the end of three days, the total collection of Sikandar stands at Rs 74.5 crore India net. With its worldwide business, the movie has already crossed the mark of Rs 100 crore in three days.

It was anticipated that Sikandar will turn out to be a major success story. However, the numbers even though decent are slightly disappointing given Salman Khan’s star power. Especially after the storm created by Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava, it was being anticipated that Salman Khan’s action thriller will serve as a competition. However, that does not seem to be the case. Further, Sikandar is facing competition from Mohanlal and Prithviraj Sukumaran’s film L2: Empuraan. Sikandar also stars Prateik Smita Patil, Sharman Joshi, Sathyaraj, Kajal Aggarwal and others in key roles.
