The much-awaited film of Salman Khan, Sikandar was released on March 30. The film was directed by AR Murugadoss and stars Salman Khan and Rashmika Mandanna, in the lead roles. However, the film has brought in a decent collection on its ninth day of its release. According to Sacnilk, the film has collected Rs 104.25 crore net in India so far.
As per reports, Sikandar made an estimated Rs 1.75 crore net on Monday in India, which makes a total collection of Rs 104.25 crore net. However, L2 Empiraan has also made an estimate of Rs 1.75 crore, which brings the total to Rs 100.10 crore net in India, which makes it a neck-to-neck battle with Sikandar.
Sikandar which was released on March 30 had an opening collection of Rs 26 crore and made Rs 93.75 crore by its first Friday and Rs 4 crore and Rs 4.5 crore over the weekend. The film crossed the Rs 100 crore barrier in India on day 8 and is all set to cross Rs 200 crore worldwide soon.
Salman’s Eid releases’ box office collections are usually high but the Sikandar numbers are not bad, despite Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan collecting Rs 184.6 crore worldwide in its lifetime. Despite not being an Eid release, his previous film Tiger 3 had brought in Rs 464 crore worldwide, and it remains to be seen if Sikandar will match that. The film is currently one of the highest-grossers of the year, but it has Chhaava, L2 Empuraan and Sankranthiki Vasthunam’s worldwide collections to beat.
In the film, Salman plays Sanjay Rajkot while Rashmika plays his wife Saisri. After its release, the film received negative reviews from critics for its story, direction, and music. The film also stars Sathyaraj, Kajal Aggarwal, Sharman Joshi, Prateik Babbar, Kishore, Jatin Sarna and Sanjay Kapoor.
