After Anora‘s series of high-profile wins lately, including top prizes at the Critics Choice, Producers Guild, Directors Guild, Writers Guild and Independent Spirit Awards, not to mention wins by star Mikey Madison at the BAFTAs and Spirit Awards, the Sean Baker-helmed Palme d’Or winner was surprisingly shut out at the 2025 SAG Awards, voted on members of the actors’ union SAG-AFTRA.
Madison, though, did get some camera time, kicking off the show with a heartfelt speech about her acting career during the SAG Awards‘ signature “I’m an actor” segment and cracking up as she presented clips from the film with co-stars Mark Eydelshteyn and Yura Borisov, who was also nominated for a best supporting actor SAG Award.

Fellow nominee Adrien Brody had won best actor for his work in The Brutalist at the Golden Globes, Critics Choice Awards and BAFTAs. Both Chalamet and Brody are nominated for the best actor Oscar.

On the TV side, Only Murders in the Building and star Martin Short scored surprise wins for comedy ensemble, beating awards favorites Hacks and The Bear, and actor in a comedy series, with Short missing the show after fellow OMITB star and friend Steve Martin indicated late last week that Short was sick with COVID.
Speaking of The Bear, the awards darling went home empty-handed from Sunday night’s SAG Awards despite its four nominations this year, even though Shrinking star Jason Segel quipped to host Kristen Bell that the Jeremy Allen White-led series “wins all of our awards” in the comedy categories.
On Sunday night, though, neither The Bear nor Shrinking won
