Sabrina Carpenter is firmly on the showgirl bandwagon.
Joining the likes of Taylor Swift and Pamela Anderson, the singer chose a vintage boudoir-inspired look for her appearance on “Late Night with Seth Meyers” on Monday night.
While the look might not have stood on the mainstage in Vegas, it is still a unique piece of fashion history with a supermodel pedigree. In fact, the flirty design was first worn on the runway on iconic model Claudia Schiffer during the iconic French lingerie designer Chantal Thomass’ show in the fall of 1994.
The dress featured a white bodice with an incorporated black jacket, double-breasted and left open at the front. The mini skirt’s frilly bottom cascaded downward in flowing patches of white chiffon.
On her feet were sky-high platform stiletto heels from Christian Louboutin.
With loose blond curls framing her face, she discussed the recent conclusion of her “Short n’ Sweet” tour.
Meyers joked with Carpenter about a recent TikTok she posted, bidding goodbye to some of the more, let’s say, humbling elements of her routine.
“Saying goodbye to the heart pit where I pretended to be shocked by the surprise song,” read one caption. “The stairs that humbled my ass one too many times,” read another.
The 26-year-old is currently in a feud with the Trump administration after her music was used without permission in a controversial ICE commercial.
“Do not ever involve me or my music to benefit your inhumane agenda,” she responded to the inclusion on social media.
She was also recently honored as Variety’s Hitmaker of the Year. She used her acceptance speech to encourage others to “write the music you want to listen to yourself.”
