Nick Reiner’s family members were reportedly “scared” of him before Rob Reiner and Michele Reiner’s brutal murders.
The allegedly “violent and super aggressive” 32-year-old “made his parents’ lives hell” with “violent outbursts,” a source told the Daily Mail on Thursday.
The insider claimed the late couple “did everything to help that boy” before their shocking deaths on Sunday.
“Michele would say: ‘I don’t know what else we can do?”‘ the outlet claimed.
The source noted that Nick, who has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder, “was always deeply troubled” but this “magnified to horrific levels” with his drug addiction struggles.
“On the surface they had everything, but the tragedy of Nick was always lurking there in the background,” the insider alleged. “That worry never went away.”
The outlet similarly claimed on Monday that the “ticking time bomb… had no control” and was prone to meth-fueled outbursts, from “breaking things [to] punching walls.”
Rob and Michele, who were respectively 78 and 70 at the time of their deaths, allegedly “threatened to call authorities multiple times, but in the end didn’t.”
The pair were found slain in their Brentwood home on Sunday, with Nick arrested later that same day.
The suspect appeared in court on Wednesday wearing a suicide vest.
He is being held without bail at the Twin Towers Correctional Facility in Los Angeles, with his arraignment scheduled for Jan. 7.
Nick’s siblings, Romy and Jake, neglected to name him in the heartbreaking statement they released about the tragedy.
“Words cannot even begin to describe the unimaginable pain we are experiencing every moment of the day,” the duo wrote of losing their “best friends.”
“The horrific and devastating loss of our parents… is something that no one should ever experience,” they continued.
Rob and Michele are also survived by the director’s 61-year-old daughter, Tracy, from a previous marriage, who expressed her “shock” over the news on Monday.
“I came from the greatest family ever,” she told NBC News. “I don’t know what to say.”
Rob and Michele had an epic love story, tying the knot in 1989 more than a decade after the “All in the Family” alum’s divorce from first wife Penny Marshall.
Cinematographer Barry Markowitz, who stayed at the couple’s home the month before their murders, told Page Six it was “one big love fest” there.
