Rob and Michele Reiner’s son Nick has officially been charged with two counts of first-degree murder in the stabbing death of his parents.

The Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman and Police Chief Jim McDonnell held a press conference to share the updates Tuesday.

“Today I’m here to announce that our office will be filing charges against Nick Reiner, who is accused of killing his parents,” Hochman told reporters.

“These charges will be two counts of first-degree murder with a special circumstance of multiple murders,” he added. “He also faces a special allegation that he used a dangerous and deadly weapon, that being a knife.”

These charges carry a maximum sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole, or the death penalty. He added that no decision is being made about the death penalty at this time.

Nick, who is being held without bail, is going through medical clearance and will then be brought to court to be arraigned.

As Page Six previously reported, the Hollywood icon and his wife were found stabbed to death in their Brentwood, Calif., home on Dec. 14. Rob was 78 and Michele was 68.

“It is with profound sorrow that we announce the tragic passing of Michele and Rob Reiner,” the family told Variety in a statement. “We are heartbroken by this sudden loss, and we ask for privacy during this unbelievably difficult time.”

Rob and Michele were found with their throats slit open, sources told The Post.

Their daughter, Romy, allegedly told police that a relative was “dangerous” and “should be a suspect.”

The next day, Nick was arrested on charges of murder in his parents’ stabbing deaths.

Nick, 32, was taken to Parker Center Jail in Downtown Los Angeles before being transferred to Twin Towers Correctional Facility, where he is currently being held without bail. He is also reportedly on suicide watch, law enforcement sources told TMZ.

The screenwriter was set to be arraigned Tuesday at Los Angeles Municipal Court. However, it was postponed after Nick was not medically cleared to be “transferred to court.”

Just one night before Rob and Michele’s lifeless bodies were discovered, Nick allegedly had a loud argument with his parents at Conan O’Brien’s Christmas party, a source confirmed to The Post.

Nick also allegedly had a tense exchange with Bill Hader at the party, NBC News reported. A source told the outlet that Nick stormed off after the comedian told him he was in the middle of a private conversation.

The “Being Charlie” writer has a history of violence and has struggled with drug addiction issues since his teen years.

However, Rob’s close friend and film collaborator, Barry Markowitz, exclusively told Page Six Tuesday that the director “never had fears for his safety.”

“Rob never gave up. He tried everything. If you knew Rob, he was just a bundle of love,” Markowitz said.
