Rob and Michele Reiner’s son Nick reportedly left behind a blood-stained hotel room after his parents’ murders.
On Sunday, Nick, 32, checked into the Pierside Santa Monica in Santa Monica, Calif., using his own credit card, according to TMZ.
Eyewitnesses told the outlet that Nick appeared “tweaked out” upon arrival but said there were no visible signs — blood on his clothes or cuts on his body — that he had been in a violent altercation.
The reservation was reportedly made for just one day, but Nick never formally checked out.
When housekeeping came into his room later Sunday morning, they found the shower “full of blood” and blood on the bed, per TMZ, which claimed that the window had also been covered by bed sheets.
Los Angeles Police Department Robbery-Homicide Division detectives reportedly went to the hotel Monday to gather evidence and interview employees.
Nick was eventually tracked down with the help of the US Marshal Task Force and arrested by LAPD Gang and Narcotics Unit officers around 20 miles away in Exposition Park, near Downtown LA.
Officials later released photos of the arrest, which showed Nick being pinned to the ground and escorted into the back of a police car. He was wearing a black jacket with white stripes and jeans.
Nick had reportedly gotten into “a very loud argument” with his parents at comedian Conan O’Brien’s Christmas party Saturday night.
Sources said Nick looked out of place at the bash and was “acting crazy,” behaving “creepily” and “freaking everyone out.”
On Sunday afternoon, Rob, 78, and Michele, 68, were found stabbed to death in their Brentwood home, with sources claiming their throats had been slit.
The couple’s daughter, Romy Reiner, 28, allegedly made the grisly discovery and told responding officers that a “dangerous” family member “should be a suspect.”
Page Six then revealed Monday morning that Nick had been arrested on charges of murder in the case.
He was originally booked in DTLA’s Parker Center Jail before being transferred to Twin Towers Correctional Facility, where he is being held without bail.
An insider who knew Nick as a child described him to Page Six as “intense” and “egocentric,” explaining that he had “inexhaustible” energy and serious “behavioral” issues.

Notably, Nick has been battling drug addiction for more than half his life. He’s been to rehab almost 20 times and experienced bouts of homelessness.
