Rob and Michele Reiner’s official causes of death have been revealed.
The “Princess Bride” director and his wife died from “multiple sharp force injuries,” the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner told TMZ, noting that the manner of death for both Rob and Michele was homicide.
The couple was found stabbed to death in their Brentwood home in Los Angeles Sunday.
Nick was arrested on Sunday evening in downtown Los Angeles and charged with murdering Rob, 78, and Michele, 70.
On Tuesday, the screenwriter was charged with two counts of first-degree murder with a special circumstance.
Nick could potentially face the death penalty in the brutal killings, or life in prison without the possibility of parole.
The New York Times reported that their daughter Romy, 27, found her parents’ bodies after a massage therapist received no response at the family estate gates.
Romy found the “When Harry Met Sally” director’s body first.
After fleeing the home, she reportedly asked a roommate to call 911, then subsequently contacted her father’s friend, Billy Crystal.
Romy learned her mother had also been killed after paramedics and police arrive, per the New York Times.
