Rihanna plucked her floral headpiece right off the Dior runway.
Creative director Jonathan Anderson made his haute couture debut for the French fashion house on Monday in Paris with a stunning collection rife with layered ruffles, voluminous silhouettes and floral styling pieces.
Mere hours after models showed off cyclamen-sculpted headdress in a variety of pink and purple hues, Rihanna was spotted adding one to her jeans and T-shirt look.
After attending the show earlier in the day in a sheer dress with black polka dots topped with a double-breasted tuxedo coat, the Bad Gal headed to the brand’s afterparty in a much more casual (yet still couture) ensemble.
She wrapped a white fur stole around her middle and layered a floral belt, black sunglasses and two necklaces: one beaded, wrapped twice, and another with a diamond-and-pearl pendant.
She had her hair in the same intricate updo as earlier in the day to show off the high-fashion ear coverings.
The flowers, created by milliner Stephen Jones — who has worked with the brand for three decades — were actually a sweet tribute to John Galliano, one of Anderson’s predecessors who reigned from 1997 to 2011.
Anderson shared on Instagram, “Last year just before my first woman’s show for @dior the first person I wanted to show the collection to was @jgalliano @lexyroche John very kindly came with two posy of cyclamen tied with black silk ribbons and a bag of cakes and sweets from Tesco for the team.”
He continued, “The most beautiful flowers I had ever seen so I took this as a starting point so that everyone could receive the same posy of flowers I had received.”
Guido, the show’s hairstylist, further shared with Vogue, “Flowers in the hair always signal romance, but the way they are presented, sitting at the front of the face, is what makes it modern.”
