Rihanna reportedly “doesn’t understand” why her family was targeted after several shots were fired at her Los Angeles mansion on Sunday.
The “Diamonds” singer “is freaking the f–k out” after a woman believed to be Ivanna Ortiz allegedly shot at her property with an AR-15 rifle when she was home, a source told People Monday.
“Rihanna heard the shots, but was initially confused about what happened,” a second insider added. “Even with a great security team in place, it’s scary to realize that something like this can still happen.”
The incident was “terrifying” for Rihanna, but she’s “[thankful] everyone is safe,” the source added.
The “Work” songstress, who shares the home with her longtime partner A$AP Rocky and their kids RZA, 3, Riot, 2, and Rocki, 6 months, “doesn’t understand why someone would target her family.”
It’s unclear if the Grammy winner’s family was home at the time of the incident.
A spokesperson for the hitmaker wasn’t immediately available to Page Six for comment.
The shooting occurred around 1:20 p.m. local time, with one bullet reportedly going through a wall of the home.
Los Angeles Police Department Sgt. Jonathan de Vera told the Los Angeles Times that “approximately 10 shots” were fired at the home by someone in a white Tesla across the street.
Hours later, police arrested Ortiz for attempted murder and accused her of using a rifle to target Rihanna’s home.
Her bail was set at $10.225 million.
Ortiz shared several eyebrow-raising messages about the pop icon via social media in the weeks leading up to the incident.
Page Six has since uncovered the suspect’s criminal record, revealing that she was previously arrested for domestic violence after she allegedly attacked her ex-husband.
A motive for the crime has yet to be revealed.
Rihanna has yet to publicly speak out on the incident.
