Rihanna’s latest tattoo is a sentimental one designed by her children.
Celebrity tattoo artist Bang Bang (aka Keith McCurdy) debuted the singer’s new ink via Instagram Friday, just days after Rihanna and A$AP Rocky attended the 2026 Met Gala together.
“Family tats @badgalriri. Designed by her babies ♥️,” he captioned a series of video clips, which showed the “Umbrella” singer having her leg inscribed with scribbles, originally drawn by her kids.
The first post in McCurdy’s carousel featured a selfie-style video of Rihanna, clad in a black hoodie and sunglasses and lying on a table as the tattoo artist got to work on her leg.
Another video showed the finished product alongside the reference artwork, which was created on a white piece of paper adorned with Paw Patrol stickers.
The mom of three — who shares sons RZA, 3, and Riot, 2, and daughter Rocki, 8 months with A$AP Rocky — checked out the final result in a snapshot of her standing on her tiptoes to see the tattoo in a mirror.
The kids’ scribbles had been meticulously recreated on Rih’s leg to appear as if they had drawn them directly on the back of her knee.
Fans were thrilled with the result, with many taking to the comments section to gush over the singer’s heartwarming choice of ink.
“Imagine looking back at it when they will be older 🥹 the cutest mom ❤️,” one person remarked, while another chimed in, “the most beautiful meaning!!! 🩷”
Others were more amused by the details of the reference art, with one person writing, “The paw patrol stickers 😂.”
Rihanna, 38, has over two dozen tattoos, and McCurdy has famously inked many of them.
Among many others, the pop star boasts a Pisces symbol behind her right ear, a star outline on her left ear, a Sanskrit prayer on her right hip and cascading stars falling from the back of her neck to her spine.
She also has her birth year, 1988, on her right ankle, as well as an expansive image of the Goddess Isis prominently displayed on her ribcage.
The hitmaker notably had “never a failure, always a lesson” written backwards on her collarbone, so she could read it while standing in front of a mirror.
In 2018, McCurdy told Page Six that the iconic singer once cried in pain while having an Egyptian falcon tattooed on her ankle. Though the artist noted how painful the foot area can be for tattoos, he shared that the singer “thugged up” and did it anyway.
The singer’s latest ink comes days after she appeared on the red carpet at the Met Gala, rocking an eye-catching metallic Maison Margiela gown for the “Costume Art” theme.
She paired a jewel-studded bodice with an iridescent silver skirt and matching shawl for the event, applying jewels to her hair and face to complete the elaborate look.
A$AP Rocky, 37, accompanied her in a pink Chanel smoking jacket.
