Richard Gere won’t be celebrating Thanksgiving in the U.S. this year.
The actor, 75, revealed his plans to feast on turkey in his wife’s native country of Spain as they prepare to relocate to Madrid.
Gere’s wife Alejandra Silva, 41, hails from Spain, and the couple intend on moving to the European country with their children.
The Runaway Bride star opened up about their big move and holiday festivities during an appearance The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
‘My wife is Spanish,’ Gere began as he addressed the move. ‘Is this a problem for anybody out there?’ he joked after he heard the audience groan in sadness, prompting Fallon to assure him they were going to miss him.
‘I’ll be back,’ he promised.

‘My wife is Spanish and she gave me about seven years here, and so we’re going to spend some years in Madrid,’ he continued.
‘Our kids are bilingual so they’re going to flourish there,’ he said.
The actor joked about being a skilled linguist after Fallon asked if he too was bilingual: ‘I speak 15 languages perfectly. I don’t want to hurt you by doing it now!’
Gere then confirmed he was spending the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday abroad: ‘There, in Spain.’
He continued: ‘My wife grew up in a big Spanish family, like a big Italian family, and her grandmother was kind of the glue that held that all together.
‘And the grandmother passed away about a year and a half ago, two years ago, so my wife, I can see her morphing into the new grandmother of this extended family. So she’s already planning for 35 people for Sunday lunches.’
Gushing about his latest chapter of domestic bliss, the star said life couldn’t get any better as a father of three who is happily married to Alejandra.
‘The top of the top,’ he said. ‘I love my wife, she’s incredible. Great mother. The kids are healthy and happy. Of course there’s nothing more than that.’

The cinema icon and Alejandra wed in 2018 after two years of dating, and later welcomed two sons Alexander, five, and James, four.
Richard also shares son Homer with his ex-wife and model Carey Lowell, and decided to name him after his grandfathers as well as the Tibetan name “Jigme” – which is his middle name.
He and Carey married in 2002 but later separated in 2013 after 11 years of marriage.
The latest update comes after the couple sold their expansive Connecticut ranch ahead of the move.

Gere sold the nearly two-acre New Canaan estate for $10.75 million, according to Mansion Global.
The property features two separate residences: a charming 1938 main house with five bedrooms and a cozy three-bedroom cottage designed by renowned architect Harold R. Sleeper, per the outlet.
The grounds create a serene escape, complete with a patio, swimming pool, lush perennial gardens, and forest trails winding through a rock-lined stream, a natural pond, and a private waterfall.
Gere and Silva acquired the home two years ago from music icon Paul Simon and his wife, Edie Brickell.
In April, Richard revealed to Vanity Fair España that after spending the first six years of his marriage stateside, he and his wife are ready to embrace a new chapter by moving to her native Spain.

‘She was very generous in giving me six years living in my world, so I think it is only fair that I give her at least another six living in hers,’ he told the magazine.
Richard and Alejandra’s romance began in 2014, when they reconnected in Italy after first meeting years earlier through a mutual friend.
Despite their 34-year age difference, the two quickly bonded over their shared passions for humanitarian work and spirituality.
They married in a private ceremony at Gere’s estate in upstate New York in 2018.
