“Real Housewives of Orange County” alum Alexis Bellino is marking a milestone birthday with a nip and tuck.
The reality star, who will turn 50 in January, underwent a full facial rejuvenation with the goal of appearing more “youthful and zesty” as she enters her fifth decade, as she told People in an interview published Monday.
The seven-hour procedure included a facelift targeting her laugh lines, brows and neck, along with an upper blepharoplasty to remove excess eyelid skin. She also had CO2 laser skin resurfacing performed to stimulate collagen production.
Bellino described her recovery as “brutal,” explaining that it was a “whole different animal” than her previous procedures, which included a breast augmentation at the age of 19 and sinus surgery in 2011.
“It wasn’t as hard as I thought it would be, but it was not easy,” she told the outlet, adding that the left side of her face took longer to heal than the right side.
The Bravo alum explained she decided to go under the knife after her pals, who are “a decade older” than her, had their facelifts done at the age of 49 as well.
“They look amazing at 60,” Bellino said. “I kind of feel like, learn from people that are older and wiser than me.”
The Bravolebrity admitted that her children “begged” her not to have the surgery.
“They said, ‘Mom, please come on. Jesus Jugs, we’ve had enough of you and your stuff,’” she explained, invoking her infamous nickname from former co-star Tamra Judge.
“And so I just said, ‘Guys, you’ll get it when you’re 50.’”
Alexis’ husband John Janssen, whom she married in 2025, was also “against” the surgery until he joined one of her appointments.
The internet personality, however, is content with her decision and said she now doesn’t need to wear makeup when she goes out or worry about her laugh lines.
“If I feel better, then why not? That’s what the doctors are here for,” she said.
Alexis also took to Instagram to share snippets of her recovery journey from one day after the surgery to four weeks after.
“This was my half year ‘happy birthday’ to myself,” she wrote.
“My late mom always said her 50s were her favorite decade … well #rip mom and I agree with you. I’m loving every minute of my next decade and my ‘refresh.’”
