Reese Witherspoon playfully revealed that her BFF Jennifer Garner has a ‘dark side’ in a behind-the-scenes clip from their recent FaceTime call.
The 49-year-old star – who left fans stunned with her uncanny resemblance to daughter Ava – uploaded a clip to her Instagram page on Sunday as she opened up to her followers about the 13 Going On 30 actress.
The pair promoted a new book they are reading earlier this month and in between their phone call to discuss the novel, Witherspoon decided to dish on Garner.
While sitting on a chair inside a cozy living room, the Legally Blonde star asked a person filming her, ‘You’re not recording, right?’
When the camera operator said no, Witherspoon jokingly said, ‘Jen Garner is just so hard to work with.’
The reel then jumped to Garner, 53, lounging on her own couch as she tried to reach her pal via FaceTime.

Witherspoon was seen in her own home once again as she continued, ‘People think of her as this nice lady from West Virginia and she like, takes care of kids that are under served and she’s got three children – she makes her own pop tarts.’
The actress brushed strands of hair away from her face and then added, ‘But like, she’s got a dark side.’
‘I don’t know what it is,’ the star continued after sending a look towards the camera. ‘But she has it.’
Someone off camera chimed in to add, ‘And she’s late,’ before the reel jumped back to Garner still waiting for Witherspoon to pick up the FaceTime call.
The Morning Show actress explained, ‘She’s actually two minuets late for this phone call. Like my time doesn’t matter.’
As Witherspoon talked, the video kept cutting to Garner still waiting for her friend to pick up the call.
At one point, the Alias alum – who was previously married to Ben Affleck – expressed, ‘Boss lady never misses a call.’
Back in her living room, Witherspoon continued to tell people waiting off camera with feigned frustration, ‘Like my time is not important.’

Witherspoon first launched her book club in 2017 and earlier this month, both she and Garner promoted the novel The First Time I Saw Him by Laura Dave in another lighthearted Instagram video.
The two stars have developed a close bond over the years and are known for their longtime friendship.
The pair have worked on a number of collaborations, such as being executive producers on the Apple TV+ series The Last Thing He Told Me – which Garner also stars in.
Garner and Witherspoon have also given each other special shout outs and birthday tributes on social media.
Back in 2023, the mom-of-three recalled Witherspoon being by her side when she went through a difficult time.

The second season the show – which is also executive produced by Garner and Witherspoon – is set to premiere next month on February 20.
And the Legally Blonde actress has been playing the character of Bradley Jackson in the series The Morning Show additionally starring Jennifer Aniston and Billy Crudup.
The fourth season aired last fall in September 2025 and a fifth season has since been renewed.
