A reality TV star has shared a very sobering image in the midst of the shocking Victorian bushfires.
The state is under a total fire ban as it battles an escalating bushfire crisis that has killed one person, destroyed at least 10 homes, and razed more than 50,000 hectares of bushland.
Bachelor star Alex Nation took to her Instagram story on Saturday to share a photo that showed a terrifying view from her driveway.
A gigantic, ominous cloud of smoke could be seen rising over the horizon just outside her home.
She also shared a very harrowing message on another news photo that showed a plane flying amid a sickening cloud of thick smoke.
‘Last night, life felt like it was balanced on a knife’s edge,’ she began.
Bachelor star Alex Nation, 35, has shared a very sobering image in the midst of the shocking Victorian bushfires
‘We’re sitting near suburbs that have been urged to evacuate, advised to pack our valuables, gather what matters most, and be ready to leave at a moment’s notice. It’s a strange, heavy limbo where every decision feels loaded and every minute stretches longer than the last.’
Referencing her earlier post, Alex, 35, added that watching the hill just outside her home was the ‘hardest part’ of the ordeal.
‘Staring at it. Willing the wind to change. Hoping with everything we have that we don’t see flames crest over the top,’ she continued.
‘Just on the other side, the fire is out of control, tearing through beautiful towns we love so much, places filled with memories we cherish.
‘Communities are losing homes, livelihoods, pieces of themselves, and the grief of that loss hangs thick in the air, even from afar.’
The mother-of-three went on to praise the hard work and bravery of emergency service workers and volunteers.
‘And through it all, there is nothing but the utmost respect and admiration for our firefighters, SES workers and volunteers,’ she added.
‘The courage it takes to stand in front of something so fierce and unpredictable is beyond words. They are risking their lives to protect strangers, homes, forests, livestock, wildlife, beloved pets and futures.’

Premier Jacinta Allan announced overnight a state of disaster had been declared across 18 local government areas and the Lake Mountain Alpine Resort, as authorities in Wahring warned some communities had been ‘completely obliterated’.
She said the declaration was made due to the threat to life or property and ‘sends a clear message to those who have been advised to leave: If you can, you must’.
State authorities have described the crisis as the worst bushfires since the 2019-2020 Black Summer blazes.
Two adults and a child who disappeared after a fire destroyed their house in the hard-hit town of Longwood, about 50km north of Melbourne, have since been found.
