Ranveer Singh’s film Dhurandhar is constantly breaking records at the box office. After earning superbly for more than four weeks, the pace of the film seems to be slowing down a bit. The film is a nearly four-hour-long spy drama set in Pakistan, which received an overwhelming response from the audience. According to Sacnilk.com, Dhurandhar set a new record by earning in double digits continuously for 28 days, which is considered a big achievement in itself. Talking about the weekly collection of the film, Dhurandhar did a great business of Rs 207.25 crore in the first week, Rs 253.25 crore in the second week, Rs 172 crore in the third week, and Rs 106.5 crore in the fourth week.

Dhurandhar smashed all records and collected Rs 51.25 crore in the fifth week. On the 36th day, that is the fifth Friday, the film collected Rs 3.50 crore nett in India. So far, the film’s total domestic net collection has reached Rs 793.75 crore. Talking about the occupancy, the total Hindi occupancy of Dhurandhar on Friday was 15.25%. The viewership was 7.97 per cent in the morning show, 16.70 per cent in the afternoon, 17.41 per cent in the evening, and 18.93 per cent in the night show.

Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar collected Rs 28 crore at the box office on the first day of release. Meanwhile, Prabhas’s film The Raja Saab opened strongly on the first day of its release and earned Rs 45 crore. Its total collection on the first day is said to be Rs 54.15 crore, making the competition at the box office even more interesting.

Dhurandhar has created history by becoming the highest-grossing Indian film in a single language at the box office. According to the makers, the film has surpassed Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2 (Hindi version – Rs 830 crore) by collecting Rs 840 crore gross in India. At the same time, Dhurandhar’s worldwide earnings have exceeded Rs 1,240 crore, making it one of the biggest films of all time.

Dhurandhar also stars Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, and R Madhavan in pivotal roles. The story is inspired by true events like the Kandahar plane hijack, the 2001 Parliament attack, and the 26/11 Mumbai attacks, which connect the audience emotionally. Directed by Aditya Dhar, the film is mostly set in Karachi’s Lyari area. While Dhurandhar was released on December 5, its sequel, Dhurandhar 2, will be released in five languages on March 19 next year, coinciding with the occasions of Eid, Gudi Padwa, and Ugadi.
