Veteran actor Deb Mukherjee, who was seen in several movies including Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar, Adhikar among others, breathed his last on March 14. Ayan Mukerji’s father and Ashutosh Gowariker’s father-in-law Deb was 83 and hadn’t been keeping well for the last couple of months. As mentioned in reports, Deb passed away this morning due to age-related ailments. Deb Mukherjee’s last rites were performed today at Pawan Hans Crematorium in Juhu, Mumbai. Family members and friends including Kajol, Ajay Devgn, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Tanishaa rushed to attend Deb Mukherjee’s last rites.
For those who have followed Deb’s annual Durga Puja celebrations would remember the beautiful bond he shared with Kajol and Rani Mukerji. Much like past celebrations, last year festivities too witnessed Deb seeking Ma Durga’s blessings at Bollywood’s most famous North Bombay Sarbojanin Durga Puja Pandal in Mumbai. As evident from the video we have got for you, he was seen spending quality time with both Kajol and Rani.

Deb Mukherjee – who was popular for being the driving force of the North Bombay Durga Puja – was seen giving Kajol a warm hug as the two posed for photos. Rani too can be seen pulling a chair for him to ensure he felt at ease during Durga Puja ceremony last year.
For the unversed, Deb’s father Sashadhar Mukherjee was a popular producer and the founder of Filmalaya Studios. Deb’s mother, Satidevi Mukherjee, was the only sister of icons Ashok Kumar, Anup Kumar and Kishore Kumar. Deb’s siblings too were part of the film industry. While his brother Joy Mukherjee was a popular actor, while his other brother, writer-director Shomu Mukherjee, had tied the knot with veteran actor Tanuja. Both Kajol and Tanishaa are Shomu and Tanuja’s daughters.
