Rachel Zoe recalled the ‘insane’ moment that led to her filing for divorce from ex Rodger Berman.
The 54-year-old fashion designer – who initially announced her split from Berman in September 2024 – got candid about the topic during Thursday’s episode of The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills.
The star and Berman were together for 33 years – 26 of those being through marriage after the former couple tied the knot in 1996. The pair also share two sons: Skyler, 14, and Kaius, 12.
During a conversation with castmate Erika Jayne, Zoe explained that her ex planned an unannounced meeting so he could introduce their sons to his girlfriend – although her name was not disclosed in the episode.
However, Berman has been romantically linked to Bree Jacoby, whom he was seen cozying up with just four months after his split from Zoe.
Her children were about to go off to camp at the time as the TV personality added, ‘She’s never met the kids.’

The star added, ‘My kids are leaving, about to get on a plane to camp, literally she f***ing appears. She’s there with him, shows up and says hi to my sons. What the f***?’
And during a confessional, Zoe revealed that she had officially filed for divorce that same day.
‘Just a typical day. I mean, it’s not one thing,’ she said, referencing to what had prompted her to take the step to end the marriage.
‘It’s an absolute myriad of bad decisions that have been over the last month, the last weeks, the last f***ing hour that would trigger me to move things forward.’
The mom-of-two and Berman did not sign a prenup before marrying.
The designer additionally expressed that she didn’t want to receive or give spousal support.
‘I feel that this is a new beginning and if we are separating and living separate lives and are separate people, I don’t see why I should be paying for that or he should be paying for mine.’

‘It’s an absolute myriad of bad decisions that have been over the last month, the last weeks, the last f***ing hour that would trigger me to move things forward,’ she said; seen earlier this month in L.A.
She cited ‘irreconcilable differences’ as the reason for the separation while also requesting that both she and Berman have joint legal and physical custody of their two children.
‘After 33 years together and 26 years married, Rodger and I have come to the mutual decision to end our marriage,’ the former couple expressed in a joint statement at the time.
‘We are incredibly proud of the loving family we have created and our countless memories together.’
The pair said they will prioritize focus on their sons and ‘are committed to co-parent our boys and to continue to work together within the many businesses we share.’
During the season 15 premiere of RHOBH late last year, Zoe also gave insight into her split from Berman, per Bravo.
‘There’s a lot of reasons why our relationship was strained,’ she said. ‘In hindsight, if I had to say a great regret – probably greatest regret – would be working together.’
She further added, ‘The person that I was with my whole adult life was, in many ways, unrecognizable. Ultimately that person didn’t feel right around me or my kids.’
During the same episode, the reality star claimed that her sons also already knew about Berman’s girlfriend amid their divorce.

Late last year in November, Zoe revealed that she had been the one to ask for divorce.
‘When I made the decision to leave my marriage, it was like, okay, next,’ the fashion designer told People.
In regards to being vocal about going through a divorce, the star explained she is ‘trying to help as many women as possible.
‘I mean, probably at least 30% of the women in my life are going through a separation or a divorce.’
Zoe added, ‘The question I kept getting asked and still get asked is: “Why am I so okay coming out of a relationship that really transcended my entire adult life?”
‘It’s because I’m independent – financially, professionally and socially. I think that there isn’t enough emphasis put on the importance of that.’

The TV personality also previously said during a past episode of RHOBH that her relationship with Berman changed after having children.
‘I think we’ve outgrown each other; we became very different people,’ she further stated during a conversation with her pal Kathy Hilton.
She also told People late last year that she is back on the dating scene and admitted it was ‘incredibly fun.’
‘To be honest, that wasn’t hard for me to get into. It really wasn’t. I think this era for me is just freedom.’

Last week, Zoe attended the premiere of Paris Hilton’s Infinite Icon documentary and had been accompanied by relationship coach Sascha Haert, although the status of their relationship is unknown; the pair seen above
Zoe also shared that she was peacefully moving on after the end of her 26-year marriage and does not carry any ‘guilt.’
‘I was really done,’ the designer said of the separation. ‘I don’t suffer from guilt of not having given it everything I could have.’
Last week, Zoe was seen walking the red carpet at the premiere of Paris Hilton’s documentary Infinite Icon: A Visual Memoir in L.A.
She had been accompanied by relationship coach Sascha Haert, although the status of their relationship is unknown.
