“The Bachelor” alums Rachael Kirkconnell and Matt James broke up just three hours before the shocking Instagram announcement he shared Thursday, according to Kirkconnell’s sister, Trinity.
Trinity shared the timeline hint under TikToker Gabby White’s video about the breakup on Friday.
Trinity had previously told White that Rachael, 28, and James, 33, were “still together” when he revealed they had separated.
James’ Thursday post included a photo of them meeting at the famous “Bachelor” mansion during the first night of filming for his season of “The Bachelor,” which aired in 2021.
“Father God, give Rachael and I strength to mend our broken hearts. Give us a peace about this decision to end our relationship that transcends worldly understanding,” he captioned the snapshot.
“Shower our friends and family with kindness and love to comfort us. And remind us that our Joy comes from you, Lord 💔.”
His post confused people, considering he had shared a video of himself and Rachael trying pizza in London just two days prior.
Some fans were so bewildered by their split that they thought James’ account had been hacked. Others even theorized that they were secretly engaged and trying to “throw people off” by pretending they actually broke up.
People became even more perplexed when DeuxMoi posted a video that allegedly showed the pair walking in Tokyo together on Jan. 13.
Over the last two weeks, James posted videos of himself and Rachael in Aspen and London — but not Japan.
The creative director, meanwhile, has not posted on Instagram since she wished her “best friend” and “teammate” a happy birthday in December 2024.
The “Bachelor” Season 25 winner has not spoken out about the breakup but insinuated that she was “blindsided” when she “liked” a comment left by a fan on social media.
“The more I’m thinking about it the more I think he completely blindsided her with this. Give her some grace and let her respond in her own time,” the user wrote.
However, a report by the US Sun claimed she is “the one who pulled the plug” because James “wouldn’t commit.”
Page Six reached out to the reality stars’ reps regarding the report but we have not heard back.
