Rachael Kirkconnell says cheating did not lead to her shocking split from Matt James — but they are never, ever, ever getting back together.
A TMZ paparazzo caught up with Kirkconnell Monday at Los Angeles International Airport and asked whether “infidelity” was a factor in their breakup.
“No. No, not at all,” the former “Bachelor” contestant replied confidently.
She was just as sure of herself when responding to whether she would ever rekindle her romance with James.
“No, definitely not,” she stated with a smile. “Yeah, we’re out. We’re done.”
The 28-year-old explained to the inquiring pap that she’s “doing OK” and “hanging in there” amid the fallout of the pair’s public split, which she admitted is “nothing that you can prepare for.”
She added that she’s taking things “one day at a time” and “protecting [her] peace.”
As for when she will divulge the details of what went wrong in the duo’s four-year relationship, Kirkconnell teased, “I think that things will start to come out, and I’ll speak about it whenever I’m ready.”
The wait for eager Bachelor Nation fans might not be too long, however, given that Kirkconnell’s episode of Alex Cooper’s “Call Her Daddy” podcast will drop Tuesday night.
As for James, he stunned the masses earlier this month when he revealed that he and Kirkconnell had called it quits.
“Father God, give Rachael and I strength to mend our broken hearts. Give us a peace about this decision to end our relationship that transcends worldly understanding,” he captioned an Instagram photo of the two on Season 25 of “The Bachelor.”
“Shower our friends and family with kindness and love to comfort us. And remind us that our Joy comes from you, Lord 💔.”
The former “Bachelor” star tagged Kirkconnell but made sure to disable the comments section.
Netizens were confused by the upload because James had just posted content from a trip to London with Kirkconnell and gushed over their potential future wedding.
It appears Kirkconnell was just as taken aback by the move, as she “liked” a comment speculating that the 33-year-old had “completely blindsided her with this.”
Her sister, Trinity Kirkconnell, went on to claim in another cryptic comment that James shared the breakup announcement just “3 hours” after he and Rachael went their separate ways.
