Last week, all Bollywood lovers could talk about was Kareena Kapoor Khan and Shahid Kapoor’s reunion at the IIFA 2025 press conference in Jaipur. Fans couldn’t believe that the ex-lovers finally decided to talk to each other and that too publicly, after a decade. The videos and pictures have been going viral on social media, with many of them feeling quite nostalgic, seeing their favourite duo finally speak to each other and be cordial towards each other. Many fans have been sharing the edits using the songs from their movie Jab We Met. Now, the movie’s director, Imtiaz Ali, has also reacted to the same.
Jab We Met is the movie in which Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan were last paired with each other as a romantic pair. Although the duo also worked in Udta Punjab in 2016, they never shared the screen space. In an interview, Imtiaz Ali has reacted to Shahid and Kareena’s reunion and the sequel to his 2027 superhit film.
The Rockstar director said, “Actually, I find it very interesting that Shahid and Kareena met up at IIFA and people are talking to me about ‘Jab We Met’. Shahid has said that he thinks that I have moved on, but I think that everybody has moved on. It’s been a long time since Jab We Met.”
So, does the director have any plans to make a sequel for his 2027 film about the same? Ali told PTI, “I think we should savour that and we should not spoil it by coming up with a sequel at all. I’m not really planning a movie with Shahid and Kareena per se, but it’s great that they met and they’re both very fantastic actors. I obviously had the greatest time working with both of them.”
