The Peabody Awards have added six people — five from the TV industry and one from the media business — to its board of directors.

Amazon MGM Studios global head of TV Peter Friedlander; Sony Pictures TV president Katherine Pope; A24 partner and global head of TV Ravi Nandan; and North Road company president of television Amy Israel will all serve on the awards’ West Coast board. CNN Worldwide executive vp Amy Entelis and New York Times managing editor Carolyn Ryan will join the East Coast board for the Peabodys.

“When it comes to maintaining the integrity of an institution like The Peabody Awards, while at the same time evolving with the changing landscape that is television, podcasts, radio and interactive content, it is the strength and commitment of your board of directors that makes those goals possible,” said Jeffrey Jones, executive director of the Peabody Awards. “We are so excited to have Peter, Katherine, Ravi, Carolyn, and both Amy Israel and Amy Entelis joining our already formidable board, who all share Peabody’s commitment to honoring outstanding and transformative storytelling.”

The Peabody board of directors is separate from the jury that votes on the annual awards and provides counsel and stewardship to the organization and its commitment to spotlighting outstanding storytelling.

The Peabody Awards, given by the University of Georgia’s Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication, honor productions across several types of media that show excellence in storytelling and reflect current social issues and emerging voices. Nominees for the 2026 awards will be announced in April, with winners honored May 31 in Los Angeles.
