Breakups aren’t easy, but Pete Davidson seems to be managing his split from Elsie Hewitt extremely well according to a source close to the “SNL” alum.

Davidson, who has been vocal about his battle with extreme depression, “has never sounded better than he has this week,” the source told Page Six days after news broke that he and Hewitt were calling it quits five months after welcoming their daughter, Scottie.

In fact, Davidson is still on cloud on nine following a successful roast of Kevin Hart that premiered on Netflix last week.

“Pete was really funny and no one took shots at him,” the source said, adding his comedian pals have been “extremely supportive” amid his breakup.

“The support he’s gotten from people has been great. Everyone at the roast, his friends. He’s getting tons of support,” they said.

Davidson is also trying be supportive of Hewitt, our insider shared. “He’s always been consistently supportive. He wants her to be in a good place. There’s a baby involved, and that’s their priority,” they said.

Davidson and Hewitt welcomed daughter, Scottie, in December, five months before ending their relationship. And even though raising Scottie is top priority for the pair, they have no interest in reconciling, according to sources.

“They are done. There have been problems throughout their relationship and things are not good between them at all. They haven’t been for a while,” another source previously told us.

“They tried working things out but decided it was best to go their separate ways,” they added.

Our first insider said the relationship had simply “run its course,” but acknowledged that Davidson’s working schedule was a factor. Still, “When he was away, he’d try to be home for a couple of days or she’d visit, but they definitely had their issues. Ultimately, [the relationship had] run its course,” they said.

A source close to the former couple exclusively told Page Six on Saturday that “Pete is doing everything to be super supportive to Elsie, he’s changed his schedule, and done everything he can to be there physically and financially so Elsie can feel supported.”

They also claim, “Pete has been paying for everything related to Elsie and Scottie,” including “the rent, their living expenses, their health insurance.”

The source continued, “Obviously, they have had personal disagreements and there has been a breakdown in the relationship, but he is fully committed to being a good dad.”

Davidson’s rep did not get back to us.
