Paige DeSorbo is the queen of shoewear.
DeSorbo, 32, exclusively opened up to Us Weekly about her partnership with DSW while celebrating her collection launch in New York City on Tuesday, March 4. DeSorbo’s favorite style in her line — which features pumps with bows, sandals, colorful heels, sneakers and more — has got to be the kitten heel, which she praised for being “perfect.”
“They’re honestly great for — I don’t wanna say my age group — but sometimes I can’t wear really high heels anymore and it’s depressing,” she joked to Us. When it comes to styling the small heel, the Summer House star recommends wearing it with leggings, capris, or “anything that really showcases the shoe.”
Her collection features “all standouts” so DeSorbo likes to wear the shoes with minimalistic accessories and a blazer. “I’m not afraid of mixing brown with black,” she noted, pointing out her outfit at the launch featured a coffee mesh Steve Madden heel, which she elevated with black capri pants. “I think they look really chic,” she gushed.
Just like Us, DeSorbo is thrilled the ballet flat is back in style but doesn’t see herself “ever” wearing wedges again. “You’ll never see me in a wedge,” she said. “I didn’t really love a wedge when they were in, but I wore them and now I’m like, ‘I can’t do a wedge.’ [Especially] a cork wedge.” She added, “The style doesn’t appeal to me anymore and I don’t think it ever will again.”
While her DSW collection is ultra affordable (with all designs being under $100), she reminisced with Us on her first designer shoe — which her mom splurged on for her — the famous Christian Louboutin So Kate heel beloved by Zendaya. “The most uncomfortable shoe I’ve ever put on,” she quipped. “I’ve worn it maybe four times because it’s so, so painful. They’re debilitating for me, actually.”
When she’s not in kitten heels, DeSorbo is rocking off-duty styles like sneakers. “I’m always traveling so I have to have a good comfy pair,” she told Us. “I feel like a thing people really don’t know about me is that when I don’t have to be dressed, I’m in pajamas.”
As she chatted with Us, DeSorbo got real about Kyle Cooke’s “rage text” in season 9 episode 3 of Summer House, in which he sent her angry messages about her now ex Craig Conoway investing in Spritz Sobriety, a competitor of his Lover Boy hard teas.
“Kyle and I have a very brother-sister relationship because we’ve known each other for almost 10 years now,” she said, brushing off the incident. “We can say the meanest things we’ve ever thought in our head to each other, but then I know I’m coming over and playing with the dogs at your apartment.”
