Kate Madden, is following in her mom’s footsteps. Or, rather, her wings.
The 18-year-old daughter of Nicole Richie and husband Joel Madden shared a pic on Instagram Monday, showing off a familiar back tattoo.
Her post included two photos and the caption “🪽,” referencing the angels wings between her shoulder blades.
In the photos, Kate wears a gold I.Am.Gia dress ($125), which features an open back to best show off her tattoo as well as two butterflies that mimic the angel wings she had permanently inked above.
The tattoo appears to be an homage to her mom, who has a similar design on her own back.
Though Nicole’s wings are slightly further apart and they are filled in with color, the mother-daughter connection is deep.
Nicole showed her support on social media, commenting “♥️♥️♥️,” while multiple 😍 emojis also ensued from followers.
“You got the same tattoo as your mom! ❤️,” wrote one, while another stated, “omg I’m obsessed with you.”
On January 12, Nicole celebrated her daughter’s birthday on Instagram with a slideshow of throwback photos, writing, “18 years of you ♥️🎂 @katemaddennn.”
Fans were surprised at the rarely seen teen’s dramatic entry to public life as she now sports black hair and chooses not to go by her first name, Harlow, but rather her middle name and has her whole life.
