Nick Reiner went on aggressive, drug-fueled “outbursts” and was reportedly threatened to be kicked out of his parents Rob Reiner and Michele Singer Reiner’s home before he was arrested in connection to their murders.
“Nick had been living in their guesthouse, the same one he destroyed more than once, but it had been like a revolving door all his adult life,” an insider told the Daily Mail Monday.
“He would do meth and not sleep for days and then have outbursts, breaking things, punching walls,” the source continued, explaining the screenwriter “had no control” and once “punched the bathroom wall.”
“He was a ticking time bomb,” the source said. “His drug use was getting worse and his parents wanted him out.”
The insider claimed Nick “would fight with his parents because they would give him the ultimatum, take medication and stop using, or move out.”
The 32-year-old allegedly once threatened his sister, Romy Reiner, for confronting him, and “all hell broke loose.”
“His parents threatened to call authorities multiple times, but in the end didn’t,” the source alleged.
“Nick would reportedly find the aftermath of his rages funny and “brag [about] how he could get away with anything.”
“He laughed about destroying his parents’ guesthouse more than once,” the insider continued. “He was so nonchalant about it.”
Nick, who has been in and out of rehab, would also allegedly take “money from his parents for drugs and prostitutes.”
“He would talk about this stuff in meetings, but then stopped going because he said it was too cultish,” the insider claimed.
During a 2018 interview on the “Dopey” podcast, Nick recalled a meth-fueled rage that left him “up for days” and “punching out some things in [the] guest house,” such as a TV and lamp
“Everything in the guest house got wrecked,” he said.
Nick was arrested Sunday after his parents were found stabbed to death at their Los Angeles home. He is being held at Twin Towers Correctional Facility and is reportedly on suicide watch.
Insiders told The Post that Rob and Michele’s daughter, Romy, found their bodies.
