Never-before-seen throwback photos from the set of Home and Away have sparked angry fans to demand a return to the show’s most iconic storylines.
Veteran cast member Georgie Parker, 61, recently shared a gallery of precious photos on social media which captured some of the highlights of her 16-year stint on the Channel Seven soap opera.
One sweet picture captured Georgie in character as Roo Stewart tenderly hugging her co-star Kassandra Clementi.
Another photo showed a beaming Georgie posing in a sunny environment with co-stars Tim Franklin and Olivia Deeble, while she was also seen laughing with series veteran Ray Meagher, who plays her on-screen father Alf Stewart.
She captioned the gallery with some heartfelt words: ‘Let’s go way back. From the vault.’
Georgie’s photos sparked a frenzy among fans who took to the comments section to call for the return of some of the show’s most iconic storylines, in which there was a better balance between younger and older cast members and ‘simpler’ plots.

‘Miss the old days. Everyone keeps saying so… It’s crazy there are no kids in Summer Bay! Bring the teens back, school, foster families,’ one person wrote.
‘Too much drama these days! The simplicity of the early years was so great,’ a second added.
‘Love this cast, great throwback. This was when the show was good, in the early 2000s. Just not the same anymore,’ a third chimed in.
‘Some of the best years of H&A,’ someone else wrote.
Home and Away has been broadcast on Channel Seven since 1988 and in recent years has been accused of moving away from its humble beginnings, with more elaborate storylines featuring kidnapping and murder.
In August 2024, Summer Bay fans were stunned after the long-running soap opera screened two shocking – and controversial – storylines.
In the first, Nicholas Cartwright’s character Cash Newman was dealt double heartache after his sister Felicity, played by Jacqui Purvis, died – and his relationship with his fiancée Eden ended.
Meanwhile, Felicity’s ex-husband Tane Parata, played by Ethan Browne, was told by his one-night stand Harper that she is pregnant with his baby — while he is still mourning his ex Felicity.

The two bombshell storylines took fans by surprise, many of whom quickly went on social media to express their frustration over how the characters behaved.
‘Poor Eden she didn’t deserve that. I get that Cash is hurting big time but Eden also lost her best friend,’ one person sniped.
‘I cried so much! And then Cash did WHAT!!! I’m stunned,’ a second user added.
However, others were sympathetic to Cash’s plight and said people needed to be understanding towards him in his time of need.
Elsewhere, fans were calling out Harper, played by Jessica Redmayne, for dropping the shock news on Tane at the worst possible time.
‘She should’ve told him straight away or at least waited for them to give his ex-wife a proper goodbye. Very hard timing,’ one person complained.
It comes after audiences were left devastated when fan-favourite character Felicity Newman collapsed and died in shock scenes.
After leaving fans in tears following her character’s death on the soap, actress Jacqui Purvis later broke her silence on her heartbreaking final episodes.
The Aussie star posted a touching tribute to her fans and the show which made her famous.
‘What a life! Thank you to @homeandaway for an incredible three years. Had an absolute blast,’ she wrote alongside a montage of her behind-the-scenes antics.
Jacqui went on to pay special thanks also to her co-star and on-screen romantic interest, Ethan Browne, who portrayed Felicity’s ex-husband Tane Parata.
