Netflix broke out its checkbook, and yada, yada, yada, Seinfeld is staying on the streamer for another five years. Sony Pictures Television has renewed its Seinfeld licensing agreements with Netflix and Paramount — the latter will keep the show’s basic-cable rights for three more years. Netflix has streaming exclusivity in the U.S. and Canada; Paramount’s cable rights are U.S.-only (and existing syndication deals with Nexstar, Tegna and Scripps, remain in place).
