Mukesh Khanna shares why he does not want to appear on Kapil Sharma’s show
Mukesh Khanna in a podcast with Siddharth Kannan called Kapil Sharma’s show ‘obscene’. He narrated an incident that took place at an award show and mentioned that the comedian was sitting next to him and he did not even say ‘hello’. Kapil sat next to him for ten minutes and exchanged no pleasantries and ticked off Mukesh Khanna.
The Shaktimaan actor also shared why he wouldn’t have accepted the invitation to appear on Kapil Sharma’s show even if he had got one. He revealed about his conversation with Gufi Paintal about Mahabharat cast being invited on the show as the Ramayana cast had already made an appearance. Mukesh Khanna had already made his opinion about the show as he felt that it relied heavily on ‘obscenity’ and ‘below the belt jokes’. He also recalled one of the comments made in reference to Arun Govil when Ramayana cast made an appearance. He explained, “The question was, ‘Arun ji, you are taking a bath, and the crowd screamed, dekho dekho dekho, Ram bhi VIP underwear pehenta hai (look, even Lord Ram is wearing VIP brand underwear). Arun Govil just smiled and sat there. If I were there, main chadh jaata (I would lose it).”
Mukesh Khanna added that he does not seen decency as double-meaning dialogues and below-the-belt jokes are made on Kapil Sharma’s show and people laugh but it is not for him.
