Molly Ringwald revealed that one “difficult” co-worker ruined her experience working on “The Secret Life of the American Teenager.”
While appearing on Tuesday’s episode of “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen,” the “Sixteen Candles” actress was asked to rank her previous projects, placing her favorite in the tenth spot and her least favorite in the first.
“The worst is one?” Ringwald asked when the 2008 drama series was mentioned before placing the show in the lowest slot, confirming, “That was it. The worst.”
“It was a hard, I mean… OK, I love the cast. I love Shailene Woodley,” Ringwald, 58, shared about her experience on the show.
“There was one person that was really difficult. And I’m not gonna say who that one person is [but] they brought it down to a one,” the actress revealed.
Ringwald, who did not disclose whether the person was a fellow actor or someone in the crew, appeared in 96 episodes of the coming-of-age show during its five-season run between 2008 and 2013.
The “Breakfast Club” star played Anne Juergens, the mother of lead character Amy Juergens, portrayed by Woodley, who became unexpectedly pregnant at 15 years old.
The show followed Woodley’s character as she navigated complex relationships with family and friends amid her teen pregnancy.
The ABC Family program also starred actors such as Mark Derwin, Ken Baumann, Daren Kagasoff, India Eisley, Francia Raisa, Greg Finley, Steve Schirripa and more.
The Golden Globe nominee, on the other hand, had only praise for her 1986 film, “Pretty in Pink,” ranking the film in the highest possible spot.
“That was pretty great… I’ll give that a 10,” Ringwald replied when Cohen asked her about the experience filming the popular rom-com.
The actress, who added that “Pretty in Pink” was her third film working with screenwriter John Hughes, said, “It was written for me. He wrote the movie for me,” when discussing her fond memories of the film.
