The sweet nickname Mindy Kaling’s eldest daughter, Katherine “Kit” Swati Kaling, gave her godfather, B.J. Novak, has been revealed to be Fofo.
During an appearance on “Watch What Happens: Live with Andy Cohen” Monday, the “Office” actor was asked what was the “best gift” he ever gave the “Mindy Project” alum’s kids that deemed him the “best godfather ever.”
“Kit nicknamed me Fofo, which is based on a Doulingo [an education app] for kids character — the bear Fofo,” he shared.
“So, I got her a Fofo stuffed animal for her collection and, um, that hit the spot,” Novak, 46, added.
Host Andy Cohen then complimented the comedian, saying he is “very present with children.”
“He’s very he gets on their level. He talks to them,” the Bravo exec, 57, added.
Novak is the godfather to Kaling’s three children: daughters, Katherine, 8, and Anne, 2, and son Spencer, 5.
The “Never Have I Ever” writer, 46, has yet to reveal the identity of her children’s father, prompting fans to speculate whether it is Novak.
Kaling, however, shut down the paternity rumors in an interview with Marie Claire in 2022.
“He’s the godparent to both my kids — and they have such a great relationship — and so far [the speculation hasn’t] affected my happiness at all, it hasn’t affected my kids or B.J.,” she said at the time.
“It doesn’t bother me,” Kaling added. “If that’s what is going to be titillating to people, I’ll take it.”
Last February, Kaling said Novak was “such an important and integral part of [her] family.”
The “Late Night” star explained she won’t talk more about how her kids were conceived until she discusses it with them.
