Mickey Rourke responded to Bella Thorne’s shocking claim that he hit her genitals with a metal grinder while working on their 2020 film “Girl.”
“We are aware of the deeply troubling statements made by Bella Thorne regarding her experience on set with Mr. Rourke during the production of a past film,” the actor’s reps said in a statement to the Hollywood Reporter on Friday.
“These allegations are extremely serious. Mr. Rourke adamantly denies any intentional misconduct.”
Rourke never received complaints of the same nature from former co-stars, according to his reps, and “was unaware of any discomfort expressed by Ms. Thorne at the time.”
“Out of respect for all parties involved and in light of the gravity of the claims, Mr. Rourke will refrain from commenting further at this time,” they continued.
“He is prepared to cooperate fully with any appropriate inquiry. We extend our support to all professionals who deserve to feel safe and respected in their workplace.”
Page Six has reached out to Thorne’s reps for comment.
Rourke, 72, responded just hours after Thorne, 27, took to Instagram to reflect on their time working on the 2020 horror film.
The Disney alum recalled a scene with the former boxer where she was “on [her] knees with [her] hands zip tied around [her] back.”
Thorne claimed Rourke was “supposed to take a metal grinder to [her] kneecap” but instead “used it on [her] genitals through [her] jeans … over and over again.”
“I had bruises on my pelvic bone. Working with Mickey was one of the all time worst experiences of my life working as an actress,” she further alleged.
The “Shake It Up” alum also claimed the “Angel Heart” star revved his engine “so he could cover [her] completely in dirt” in another scene.
At one point, Thorne allegedly was forced to go into Rourke’s trailer “absolutely alone” and “convince him to show up and complete his job” when he did not want to talk to the “director or producers.”
The “Blended” star explained that she had only gone to confront her co-star to prevent the movie from going down the drain.
Throne also called out the retired athlete for making homophobic comments to JoJo Siwa in a recent “Celebrity Big Brother UK” episode before he was forced to leave the show.
