Talk about a crowning achievement.

Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle have both been spotted wearing With Nothing Underneath’s The Boyfriend Shirt in multiple colors lately, styling the timeless tops with everything from distressed denim to sleek trousers.

Former British Vogue editor Pip Durell launched her London-based label in 2017, telling Page Six Style she wanted to make a elevated button-up “that could really be for everyone.”

“I’ve always been into style over fashion. I needed to be polished and put-together, and a shirt was always a great ‘uniform,’” she says.

The result is the impeccably smooth, fine poplin shirt Middleton and Markle both own, which offers a relaxed yet flattering fit. (The brand also cites style icons like Carolyn Bessette Kennedy and Jane Birkin among its inspirations.)

Middleton layered the sky blue Boyfriend Shirt under a blazer for an outing in February — less than two weeks before Markle wore the white version on a trip to Jordan.

The piece comes in a wide range of solid colors and stripes, along with 100% Tencel and summer-ready linen options. (The Duchess of Sussex also owns the light blue hue, having worn it on Season 1 of “With Love, Meghan.”)

The Princess of Wales’ collection also includes the brand’s blue striped Classic Oxford, which she layered under a gray blazer for a visit to the Royal National Lifeboat Institution on March 12.

“We have created beautiful items that last, but with a price point that you don’t usually find at this quality,” Durell tells us.

In 2021, the company also achieved B Corp certification, the ultimate accreditation for ethical and sustainable businesses. WNU powers its UK stores and Sussex warehouse using renewable energy sources, and works with natural materials including 100% GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) certified cotton and hemp grown without chemicals; even the shells used to make the brand’s buttons are byproducts from the food industry.

“By being a B Corp, we have put our values out for the world to see and we uphold ourselves to these standards,” Durell says.

As for why she thinks royals are drawn to her wares? “They are so easy; they can be thrown on without thought or anything underneath and immediately you look cool and put together,” she says.

“It’s effortless and it’s chic, and that’s exactly what I love about a shirt — so I hope that’s what they love, too.”
