Who is Srikanth Bolla, the new shark in Shark Tank India 4?
Srikanth Bhola was born on July 7, 1991, in Andhra Pradesh’s small village named Sitharamanpuram. He came from a family of farmers and was born blind. His life was full of challenges, but despite this obstacle, Srikant was full of dreams and determination. Despite facing societal prejudices and having limited opportunities, Srikanth Bolla did not give up. He fought the system to get educated and scored 98% in his class 10 examinations.
Even though he was denied admission to coaching institutes like the Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT) due to his blindness, Srikanth did not give up. He applied to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in the United States and became the first international blind student in the university’s history.
After his education, Srikanth returned to India and decided to create opportunities for people like him and others who the society does not consider “fit” for a proper job. He then founded Bollant Industries, a company that manufactures eco-friendly, disposable consumer packaging solutions. The company actively hires people with disabilities, thus providing them with meaningful employment and a sense of purpose. In the past few years, under Srikanth’s leadership, Bollant Industries has grown significantly, earning recognition and support from many investors; one of them also included Ratan Tata.
From being a successful entrepreneur to now a shark on Shark Tank India 4, Srikanth Bolla’s journey is quite inspiring. It would be interesting to see what kind of visionaries like him he will invest in, thus creating a positive difference in the society.
