The backlash doubled post the release of its Hindi remake Kabir Singh starring Shahid Kapoor. Arjun Reddy starred Vijay Devarakonda and Shalini Pandey in the leading roles. But did you know that the filmmaker wanted to cast some other actress for the role of Preethi in Arjun Reddy?
At the pre-release event of Thandel, Sandeep Reddy Vanga made the big revelation. The filmmaker shared that he had Sai Pallavi in mind for the role of Preethi in Arjun Reddy. He narrated how he met a coordinator from Kerala when he was doing the casting for the film and expressed that he wanted Sai Pallavi to be a part of the film. But was told to ‘forget about it’. “I spoke to him saying that I have a story about a guy who is destroyed in love. It’s a very romantic story also. I want to cast Sai Pallavi as a heroine in my film. He said, ‘What is the romantic quotient in Arjun Reddy?’ I said, ‘It is more than what we usually see in Telugu cinema’. He said, ‘Sir, forget about it. The girl will not even wear sleeveless. Forget about it,” Sandeep Reddy Vanga said further appreciating the actress for not changing at all over the years.
Sai Pallavi made her acting debut with the film Premam. She shot for the film while was studying to become a doctor. She was instantly accepted by the fans and won the Best Female Debut award. Since then there has been no stopping for her. Sai Pallavi has achieved immense appreciation for her flawless acting chops. She grew up the ladder of success swiftly, so much so that, she was the only actress to feature in Forbes’ 30 under 30 list thanks to her achievement. While she is one of the most prominent names, Sai Pallavi has upheld her values and morals high. She once rejected a Rs 2 crore project promoting fairness cream. In an interview she had said, “This is the Indian colour. We can’t go to foreigners and ask them why they’re white, and if they know that they will get cancer because of it. That’s their skin colour, and this is ours.” The actress is a woman of many talents. She is a prolific dancer too. Reportedly, her mother used to play songs of Madhuri Dixit and Aishwarya Rai for her to learn dancing.
Sai Pallavi is now looking forward to the release of movie Thandel with Naga Chaitanya. She is also going to be seen as Maa Sita in Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana that has Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram.
