Sam Kerr and Kristie Mewis have shared a first look inside their glamorous wedding ceremony on New Year’s Eve in Perth.
In a post shared to Instagram Stories on New Year’s Day, the Matildas player posed in her wedding tuxedo in front of a huge celebratory 2026 display.
Alongside her was rugby player Tyson Hodge and friend Josh Hodge, also wearing tuxedos as the group partied into the night.
Sam seemed in very festive spirits after saying ‘I do’ with American soccer player Kristie earlier that day.
A second post showed the newlywed’s luxurious view from their suite at the Crown Perth hotel and casino.
‘No better place today,’ Sam captioned the image, which depicted the expansive pool and picturesque Swan River beneath.

Sam and Kristie married on New Year’s Eve, with some big names from the world of women’s football all arriving to celebrate their special day.
The ceremony got underway at 5.30pm (AWST) at the magnificent Venetian estate, Villa Dionysus, which is situated just 23km north-east of Perth’s CBD.
Kristie, 34, looked stunning, wearing a sparkling wedding gown that featured a white lace corset that finished at her thigh. The corset was overlaid with a transparent dress that had seams of sparkly material running down its length.
Sam also dazzled, wearing an all-black tuxedo, complete with a white boutonniere and a bow tie.
The Aussie superstar carried the couple’s seven-month-old boy, Jagger, down the aisle, with Mewis breaking into tears.
‘That is going to be gut-wrenching for me, I will sob when that happens,’ Kristie had told the Mewis Squared podcast in the days preceding the wedding.
The happy couple held hands and gazed lovingly into each other’s eyes as they recited their vows in front of a large crowd of over 100 guests at the stunning Swan Valley venue.
Prior to the ceremony, the 32-year-old striker had stayed at the Crown hotel, just a 30-minute drive from the wedding venue.

The Matildas captain walked out of the hotel lobby alongside her dad, Roger, with guests also seen leaving the Crown and heading to the venue via a coach.
As part of the dress code, invitees all wore black outfits, with Kerr’s Matildas team-mate Emily Van Egmond, who got married last year to Kat Thompson, also seen wearing a black tuxedo complete with a bow tie.
Thompson was not seen at the ceremony, with the couple having only recently announced that they had welcomed their first baby.
Steph Catley walked alongside Van Egmond towards the coach, with the Arsenal defender dazzling in a simple, yet glamorous, black, strapless dress.
A host of Matildas stars also joined them on the bus, with Alanna Kennedy wearing a black pair of trousers with a corset that had a keyhole cut out around her midriff.
Kennedy chatted to Mackenzie Arnold, who similarly wore a black pair of trousers and a black dinner vest.
Mewis had predicted that it was set to be a hot day in Perth, and she was sure right, with temperatures climbing to 35 degrees on New Year’s Eve.
Amid the searing heat, members of the wedding party were seen ducking and diving for shade, while some sheltered from the Perth sun under parasols as a violin and cello duo played in the corner of the villa.

A group of Kerr’s Matildas team-mates paused to chat and toast their team-mate and her wife under an outdoor chandelier, before the couple walked down the aisle and said ‘I do’.
Kerr, who hails from Perth, turned to face Mewis before bowing her head and holding her partner’s hands.
The pair grinned at each other as the ceremony continued, with the former West Ham United star also appearing to touch her beau on the arm in a show of affection.
Kerr’s father, Roger, was seen holding their baby boy Jagger during the ceremony.
Prior to the wedding, Mewis had joked that she was a little nervous about standing up in front of a large crowd of people.
‘Obviously, it is a lot of people, I know people have a lot bigger weddings than that, but that’s a lot,’ she said to the Mewis Squared podcast.
‘For me to wrap my head around talking to 120 people in one night is a lot.
‘And the things that worry me are that I’m not going to be able to give enough time to everybody, so that’s what I’m stressing about right now.’

Located in the Swan Valley, just 30 minutes east of Perth, Villa Dionysus is a simply sensational venue, situated on a seven-acre plot of land.
The manor was inspired by an 18th-century Venetian villa, with the building’s grand pilasters and arches greeting guests on arrival.
A marble render and quartz balustrading add to the venue’s grandeur.
