Cameron Merchant has shared the horrific injury he suffered while fishing with his young son.
The 42-year-old Married At First Sight star posted a video to social media this week in which he had a fishing hook stuck through his eyelid.
The hook was painfully latched in his skin, but Cameron was surprisingly calm about the mishap.
‘Do you want a fishing story that you just can’t make up?’ Cameron asked in the clip.
‘I just pulled the line in, and the hook just seemed to… yeah. So, catch anything? My eyelid!’ he joked.
The former reality star then carefully removed the hook from where it was embedded before rubbing his eye.

‘Anyone have any fishing tips?’ he asked his fans jokingly, before explaining it was his first time fishing with his son Ollie, five.
Cameron added in his caption: ‘Everyone’s having fun until someone loses an eyelid…Ollie’s First time fishing.. Potentially the last.
‘Didn’t catch a thing. Got burnt, hands smell like prawns but experiences like this bring fathers and sons closer together.’
Cameron’s fans were stunned, with several sharing their thoughts in the comments section.
‘OMG mate!! I’d say nice catch, but is it early for jokes…? Hope you’re okay,’ one person said.
Another wrote: ‘OMG YOU ARE SO CALM!!! I would be hyperventilating’ while one more said, ‘OMG that’s outrageous but also hilarious… glad you’re okay.’
‘OMG Cam. So glad your eyeball and eyelid are okay. I’m in shock,’ someone else commented.
It comes after Cameron’s wife, fellow Married At First Sight star Jules Robinson, penned a heartfelt tribute to her husband.

The mother-of-two took to social media to thank the former cricket star for being her biggest cheerleader.
‘We’re two individuals with our own dreams, but when it counts… we’re a team,’ Jules wrote.
The 43-year-old revealed he is the ultimate behind-the-scenes support act.
‘He irons my suit (with a towel), reads my presentation back to me while I get ready, and cheers from the wings…
‘Not because he has to, but because that’s what partnership is. Choose someone who celebrates you in the spotlight and loves you in the quiet.’
Cam responded: ‘These are cherished moments together and I love them all, so proud of you. Love watching and helping you rise and love when we do the same for each other.’
The pair have gone from strength-to-strength after meeting on MAFS in 2019, marrying for real that same year.
They have two children, sons Ollie, five, and Carter, one.
