Mandy Moore has admitted she feels a ‘certain sadness’ knowing she is finished having children as drama swirls around a ‘toxic’ A-list mom group involving her close friends.
The This Is Us star, 41, shared the admission on her Instagram Stories after a routine visit to her gynecologist stirred up some unexpected emotion as she realized she would never be pregnant again.
‘I’m at the OBGYN getting a checkup… I’m endlessly grateful for my beautiful family AND there’s a certain sadness knowing I’m done having babies and won’t be pregnant again,’ the actress wrote. ‘Any other moms feel this way?’
Moore shares three children, sons Gus, 4, and Ozzie, 3, and daughter Lou, 16 months, with her husband, Taylor Goldsmith.
The actress has previously spoken openly about motherhood and the challenges of having children later in life.
While appearing on Not Gonna Lie last July, Moore addressed the stigma surrounding so-called ‘geriatric pregnancies’ after welcoming her third child at 40.

‘Yes and no,’ she said when asked whether she received opinions about having another baby at that age. ‘I feel like so many of my friends are having kids later in life, whether it’s by choice or circumstance or biology.’
Moore added that her biggest frustration stemmed from how the healthcare system treats older mothers.
‘It’s less about people in my life and more about the healthcare system in general. It feels like such an outdated one-size-fits-all approach when it comes to women.’
In May 2025, the actress celebrated her first Mother’s Day as a mom of three, sharing a heartfelt message about the joys and demands of parenting.
‘Being a mom is the single greatest gift of my life,’ she wrote. ‘While you’re never off the clock worrying or stressing or planning, the quiet, unmistakable joy triumphs over everything else.’
Her emotional reflections come as attention has turned to longtime friend Ashley Tisdale, who recently revealed she walked away from what she described as a ‘toxic mom group’ – a group that once included Moore, Hilary Duff and Meghan Trainor.
In an essay for The Cut, expanding on a post from her blog ByAshleyFrench, Tisdale detailed feeling excluded during vulnerable postpartum months after the birth of her daughter Jupiter in 2021.
She wrote that she began noticing she wasn’t invited to gatherings she later saw posted on social media.

‘It took me back to an unpleasant but familiar feeling I thought I’d left behind years ago,’ she admitted, likening the experience to being back in high school.
‘Here I was sitting alone one night after getting my daughter to bed thinking, “Maybe I’m not cool enough?”‘ she wrote.
Tisdale said she ultimately confronted the group via text after being left out once again.
‘This is too high school for me and I don’t want to take part in it anymore,’ she wrote, adding that while she doesn’t consider most of the moms ‘bad people,’ the dynamic had stopped being healthy for her.
Fans quickly noticed that the essay followed Tisdale unfollowing both Moore and Duff on Instagram, though she did not name anyone directly in her piece.

Despite the fallout, Moore and Duff appear to remain close.
The longtime friends, who bonded after becoming mothers around the same time, have frequently spoken about the support they’ve found in one another.
They even lived together temporarily after Moore lost her family home in wildfires last year.
As recently as last month, the pair shared photos from a festive outing with their children to see a Christmas lights display, signaling their bond remains intact.
