Hilary Duff is hitting the road for her first world tour in almost two decades, and Australian fans are in for a treat.

The Come Clean hitmaker, 38, was last in the country back in 2008 on her Dignity world tour and is redressing that balance with the announcement of the Lucky Me tour to support her upcoming album Luck…or Something.

She will be heading Down Under this October for a four-date run kicking off at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre on October 22.

Hilary will then head to Sydney’s Qudos Bank Arena on October 24, and Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena on October 26, before rounding out the run at the RAC Arena in Perth on October 29.

The Lizzie Maguire star took to Instagram to announce the tour with a clip of herself rummaging through a closet, which ended with her selecting a cosy white faux-fur coat.

‘The name says it all,’ she wrote on Instagram.

‘I truly feel so lucky to be able to be onstage again in front of all of you beautiful people. I can’t wait! See you on the Lucky Me tour.’

Australian fans were quick to voice their excitement on Live Nation Australia’s Friday Instagram announcement.

‘Inner child screaming,’ one excited fan offered, while another jumped in with: ‘Omg!!! LOVE HER soooooo much.’

A third offered an equally thrilled: ‘This is what dreams are made of,’ while another summed up the sentiment of many with: ‘Sooo excited!! I went when I was 16 and you bet I’m now going now!’

The announcement drew some criticism however, with some Hilary Duff fans disappointed with the lack of an Adelaide show in the announcement.

‘Missing Adelaide is So Yesterday,’ one crestfallen fan wrote. ‘We’re here if you need us!’

‘Hey Now! What about Adelaide?’ another asked, while a fourth chimed in with: ‘Why is Adelaide always missed?’

One even-headed fan suggested that the lack of an Adelaide stop on the tour was a case of ‘win some, lose some’.

Australian fans were quick to voice their excitement on Live Nation Australia’s Friday Instagram announcement, however some were left crestfallen at the lack of an Adelaide show

‘Everyone complaining about Adelaide but she’s actually going to Perth when it’s a city that’s usually neglected,’ they commented.

‘You win some, you lose some.’

However, given the breaks in the schedule, Adelaide fans can hold on hope that a South Australian show will be added to the itinerary.

Tickets for the anticipated tour kick off from 2pm on February 18 with Vodafone and Mastercard presales.

Live Nation and Westfield Reserve presales are live from 1pm on February 19, and general on sale kicks off from 1pm on February 20.

Hilary first rose to fame as a teen idol, playing the titular role in the iconic Disney series Lizzie Maguire and subsequent feature film.

She parlayed that small and big screen success into a formidable music career that has seen her sell 15 million albums worldwide.

In March last year, Billboard ranked Hilary at number 73 on its Top 100 Women Artists of the 21st Century list.

Aside from highly successful forays into music and acting, Hilary has also co-authored a trilogy of novels, beginning with Elixir, which topped The New York Times Best Seller list, and followed by the sequels Devoted, and True.
