Lucy Liu revealed she once caught Drew Barrymore hiding from an ex in the bushes outside her home after a breakup.
The “Red One” actress recalled her “Charlie’s Angels” co-star’s unusual behavior while the two were discussing dating on “The Drew Barrymore Show” Monday.
Barrymore remembered making plans to spend the night at her girlfriend’s house amid her heartbreak, explaining that Liu had offered to buy her a drink.
“Let’s clarify for a second,” Liu interjected. “If you don’t remember, I found her hiding in my bushes!”
“She rang the gate and she was hiding and I came out,” Liu went on, admitting she initially couldn’t see her pal.
“And then you kind of came out of the bushes with leaves in your hair and you’re like, ‘I don’t want him to see me here!’ Remember?
“And I was like, ‘What are you doing? Get in the house!’”
The pair did not elaborate on when that breakup took place, but Barrymore’s friendship with the “Kill Bill” star dates back to when they starred in the 2000 film “Charlie’s Angels” alongside Cameron Diaz.
In 2020, Barrymore, 49, recalled her time on the set of the McG-directed movie, telling Entertainment Tonight that she got “so close” with her female co-stars.
“[We’re a] tripod and the three little bears that met and became magnets and we’re still here together,” she said.
Liu, 55, and Diaz, 52, even appeared in Barrymore’s first talk show episode in 2020.
Barrymore, who was first married to Jeremy Thomas from 1994 to 1995, met her second ex-husband, Tom Green, while filming “Charlie’s Angels.”
They quickly tied the knot in July 2001 but separated that December.
“[We] were young and kind of idiots,” the “50 First Dates” star later told Howard Stern, per Elle.
“I didn’t know how to manage myself. I’ve always said I was a woman in the boardroom and a child in the bedroom. I could go into a studio and pitch … but I didn’t know how to handle things in my personal life.”
Barrymore later dated The Strokes drummer Fabrizio Moretti from 2002 to 2007 and actor Justin Long from 2008 to 2010.
In June 2012, she tied the knot with Will Kopelman after a year of dating. They split in 2016.
She and Kopelman share two daughters, Olive, 12, and Frankie, 10.
Last year, the mom of two announced she had been “sort” of dating someone for about three years.
