“Love Island USA” fan-favorite Chelley Bissainthe is officially single — and she broke the news exclusively on SiriusXM’s Page Six Radio on Friday.
During an emotional conversation, the Season 7 star revealed for the first time that she and fellow Islander Ace Greene — whom she fell for and coupled up with on the hit Peacock reality dating series — have ended their relationship.
“Ace and I actually decided to part ways,” Bissainthe shared, explaining that the choice was far from easy. “It really was a tough decision, like, for the both of us and very hard to decide. But, you know, when you love someone, sometimes loving someone means letting go. So I think we just got to a decision that was best.”
Bissainthe, 24, and Greene, 23, became one of the standout couples of Season 7, quickly forming a deep bond that viewers rallied behind. Their chemistry carried them through challenges, recouplings and Casa Amor turbulence — ultimately solidifying them as one of the season’s most beloved pairings even after cameras stopped rolling.
But behind the scenes, Bissainthe says the pair faced real-world pressures that tested them in ways villa life never did.
“[There was] a mutual level of respect and understanding that we wanted this to work. But sometimes things don’t work,” she admitted. “Couples go through things that are very challenging and sometimes the best thing to do is make a decision that needs to be made.”
The reality star explained that the breakup didn’t happen overnight — and that both she and Greene were committed to communicating openly before choosing to part ways.
“We had a lot of conversations,” she said. “At the end of the day, it was just a mutual agreement of, like, this is for the best.”
Part of what weighed on her, Bissainthe acknowledged, was thinking about the fans who championed the couple from the moment they met on the show. Still, she trusts their supporters will understand.
“I’ve definitely thought about our supporters, our fans and stuff,” she said. “But I’ll trust that they’ll understand that this decision needed to be made if we were able to come to this mutual decision.”
Bissainthe chose not to disclose specifics about what led to the split, saying both she and Greene deserve grace and privacy.
“A lot happens in relationships. People can understand that,” she explained. “I think out of respect for the both of us, the details aren’t really necessary. I think that we can be peaceful and understand that we’re good with being able to be on the same page.”
Despite the breakup, Bissainthe insists the love between them was always real.
“Our relationship, from the very beginning, our understanding was our relationship wasn’t for the press, for the media or anything,” she said. “It was because I truly love you, you truly love me. But challenges happen in relationships and sometimes, like I said, you just want to be able to say, ‘You know what, let’s leave it right here before it turns into something it never needs to be.’ Like, we can leave off with light and love.”
Now, the Los Angeles-based beauty says she’s embracing a new chapter — one focused entirely on herself.
“Honestly, this whole process is going to come with a lot of healing, a lot of growth, a lot of time with myself,” she noted. “So I would just love that privacy and be able to focus on myself going forward.”
Still, she holds nothing but gratitude for Greene and the time they shared.
“We are put on this earth to experience people,” she reflected. “Sometimes we want it to last a lifetime and sometimes … it’s for that moment in time. I’m very grateful nonetheless and at the end of the day, I wish Ace the best. And for myself, I just have to focus on healing and growth, what’s next.”

Page Six reached out to a rep for Greene for comment, but did not immediately hear back.
As for whether that “next” could include another appearance on “Love Island USA,” Bissainthe laughed.
“I don’t know about that,” she said. “Maybe if they want me to guest-host or something, I would love that. But as far as searching for love there and being a contestant, I think I had my fair share.”
