Lizzo fired back at an internet troll who accused her of throwing shade at Taylor Swift.

The social media face-off began last Friday when an X user shared a clip of Lizzo’s music video for “STFU,” a song from her 2025 mixtape, “MY FACE STILL HURTS FROM SMILING.”

“The Life Of A Showgirl + MY FACE HURTS FROM SMILING — 4.005M 👑. ICEMAN + MAID OF HONOUR + HABIBTI — 683k ⚰️⚰️⚰️⚰️,” the X user captioned the post.

Confused by the caption, Lizzo re-shared the post and asked her followers, “Can someone explain what this means?”

An online hater replied to the singer by claiming that Lizzo had taken shots at Swift.

“It means all that s–t talking you did about Tay finally caught up to you,” the person wrote, a comment which has garnered over 2,000 likes.

Lizzo took note of the accusation and clapped back in a charged response Saturday.

“Are you well?” she asked before digging in.

“First of all I have never talked s–t about Taylor Swift. Also while we on the subject I’ve never talked s–t about any artist,” she continued. “Just because I mention an artist by name does not mean I’m talking s–t— grow tf up pls.”

Several people responded to Lizzo by claiming that she sided with Kanye West after the rapper released “Famous,” a song in which he referenced Swift with lyrics like “I made that b—h famous,” in 2016.

“YES YOU HAVE TALKED SHIT ABOUT TAYLOR STOP GASLIGHTING US ?? you literally sided with KANYE WEST in 2016 lets not-,” one person claimed in the comments section.

“NEVER??? let me refresh your memory a little. I’m actually really glad your career is in ruins,” a second person wrote, along with an old video of Lizzo rapping along to West’s diss track.

“You’ve been talking s–t about her for years pls spare us the gaslighting,” another person wrote.

Others sided with Lizzo, however, and pointed out that the video doesn’t prove that she was intentionally taking a swipe at Swift.

“I hate Kanye but her doing a song with him isn’t talking s–t about TS. may you be more elaborate please? genuinely asking,” one person wrote.

“She did not. Singing a song doesn’t make you that,” a supporter agreed.

“Was literally about to say you don’t even talk s–t about other artists like wtf are they on IM A HEAVY LIZZO DEFENDER UNTIL I DIE IDGAF,” another wrote.

Despite appearing to show love to Swift’s nemesis a decade ago, Lizzo has made friendly comments about the pop star in recent years.

Lizzo, 38, warmly referred to herself as “the black Taylor Swift” while discussing how she writes about dating in her lyrics during a 2022 appearance on “The Breakfast Club.”

“I really am, I’m trifling,” she continued. “I don’t talk too badly about [an ex’s] character, it’s just what he do. I’ll be like, ‘He’s a good person, but this is what he did. Am I tripping?’ They’d be like, ‘You’re not tripping, you’re not tripping.”

That same year, she clapped back at West after he made comments about her body.
