Lewis Hamilton and Sofia Vergara both think that their age gap would put the brakes on a romance, sources tell Page Six.
The pair hung out in New York earlier in the week, and — perhaps only because they’re both single and hot — there was enough talk of them getting together that they seem to have formed an opinion about it.
And, while they got along, “she thinks there’s too big an age gap,” said a speedy source. “Even he thinks she’s looking for something else in a guy,” they added.
Even though they’re only split by 12 years, they are indeed in somewhat different places in their life.
She’s 52, on her second divorce and hitting a new peak in her career. Race car superstar Hamilton just turned 40 this month and hasn’t so much as been engaged. Meanwhile, he’s just switch from his long term racing team and is hashing out plans for retirement.
Vergara split from actor Joe Manganiello after nine years of marriage. Before that she was she was in a long term relationship with Nick Loeb, which whom she had a horrific court battle over their frozen embryos.
Meanwhile, after wrapping up her run in smash hit “Modern Family,” Vergara has been showered with accolades for her Netflix drama “Griselda.” She’s both the star and its co-producer.
Hamilton had a long off-and-on relationship with “Sunset Boulevard” star Nicole Scherzinger from 2007 until 2015.
TMZ reported on Tuesday that the Vergara met up with the Brit and a few of his friends at a restaurant, where they say side by side by the window.
A source told the outlet that the “Griselda” actress barely touched her food because she was so enthralled by Hamilton.
But our insiders say that, enthralled or not, they both decided after that there’s little point in making plans for a one-on-one get-together — which is kind of a bummer since she recently told “Access Hollywood” that she was manifesting “health, money [and] a boyfriend” for the new year. “Or a lover, maybe,” she added.
Back in October, she said she was “kind of single” after being spotted with orthopedic doctor Justin Saliman multiple times.
