Lexi Minetree is Elle Woods through and through.

While promoting the “Legally Blonde” prequel, Minetree wore her own take on one of the fictional character’s most iconic outfits from the original 2001 film.

On Saturday, the actress, who plays a high school-aged Woods in the Prime series, slipped into a hot pink sequined dress for Prime Video’s “Elle World” event in New York City.

Of course, the choice to wear Elle Woods’ signature pink was significant, but the vintage Dolce & Gabbana dress itself also holds deeper meaning to the history of the iconic film.

Pulled from the brand’s fall 2000 collection, Reese Witherspoon wore the original blue version in the film for the memorable shopping scene, with Woods shows off her fashion chops when a sales associate tries to tell her a seasons-old dress for full-price.

“Is this low-viscosity Rayon?” she asks the salesperson, adding, “with a half-loop top-stitching on the hem?,” catching the sales associate in an attempted gotcha moment.

Minetree doubled down on the reference, incorporating not only the crystal-studded belt around her hips, but also the Tiffany & Co. sterling silver dog tag necklace ($1,650) the character wore in the same scene.

And, what’s more, in pink sequin, it can’t help but also draw comparisons to the pink sequin bikini that Woods wears in her Harvard Law School admissions video.

Witherspoon herself was also dressed on theme, wearing a pink Prada dress and silver heels. Meanwhile, the entire cast reunited at the event, with Jennifer Coolidge, Selma Blair, Ali Larter and more gathering for the 25th anniversary.

Making a quick change into a second sparkly look later that same day, Minetree wore a different crystal-studded minidress.

Designed in a similar pale blue tone to the Elle Woods original, though a different silhouette, the actress looked to archival Dolce & Gabbana, this time with stylist Molly Dickson pulling from the spring 1995 collection.

Last week, for her first-ever talk show appearance, Minetree borrowed from Witherspoon’s own closet, sporting the same pink Marc Jacobs tulle dress that the 50-year-old actress wore to the film’s 2001 premiere.

Back in February, Witherspoon shared a video on Tik Tok, delivering the news to Minetree that she had landed the role. Witherspoon is not only the original Woods embodiment, but also an executive producer of the series.

“Elle” will be available to stream on Prime July 1.
