Celebrity hairstylist Jesus Guerrero reportedly felt sick for months before his sudden death on Feb. 22.

Sources close to the situation told TMZ Thursday that Guerrero — who passed away at the age of 34 — had been experiencing symptoms since September 2024.

The beautician lost 20 pounds and complained of chills and hot flashes, per the outlet.

Despite reportedly feeling under the weather, Guerrero continued to fulfill work commitments abroad, including in England, Ireland and the United Arab Emirates.

He had been working with Jennifer Lopez in the UAE in the days leading up to his death.

The Houston native returned to the US and was taken to a hospital in Los Angeles, where he lived, on Feb. 21. He died the next day.

According to TMZ, he had no history of drug or alcohol use.

His autopsy has been completed, but toxicology results remain pending.

Guerrero’s younger sister, Gris Guerrero, was the one who announced via a GoFundMe that her brother had “gone to heaven.”

At the time, she shared that his “passing came very suddenly and unexpectedly” but did not elaborate.

“We have been able to track every one of his steps, but we don’t know what got him sick or what was [the] sickness,” she later told Us Weekly.

Jesus being at a hospital at the time of his passing has further confused Gris, who explained, “That’s part of why there are so many unanswered questions — because nothing they had done was able to prevent this from happening.”

Gris is positive that “everyone on his team did everything they could to get him to the doctors because he was not well” and revealed that Jesus had even sought medical attention in Dubai.

However, she said he “was focused on coming home” and noted that “his roommate forced him to go to doctors” once he was back in LA.

Gris praised both Lopez, 55, and Kylie Jenner, both of whom posted social media tributes in honor of their hairstylist-turned-friend.

Gris shared that Lopez talked her “through everything that she could,” adding, “I am very grateful for everything she did [for him] to go to the doctor and not to work and to get rest.”

As for Jenner, 27 — who offered to cover Jesus’ funeral expenses when the time comes — Gris lamented, “Jesus was family to her, and she was family to him. She has kept an open line. Anything we need, any questions we have, she has been there for us.”
