Kyle Richards was “not happy” about her daughter Alexia Umansky and her estranged husband, Mauricio Umansky, joining “Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test” Season 5.
The “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star, 57, spoke exclusively to Page Six’s “Virtual Reali-Tea” at the “Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: Roaring 20th” premiere on Tuesday night, where she shared her honest reaction to her family members joining the forthcoming season.
“My first thought was, ‘I’m going to kill you, Mauricio,’” Richards told us. “I was actually not happy at all.”
The FOX competition series puts a group of celebrity recruits through the rigorous Special Forces selection process. Led by former military operatives, the recruits are stripped of their fame as they endure demanding challenges, uncomfortable living conditions and unpredictable weather.
The only ways out of the course are to voluntarily withdraw, fail the challenges or become too injured to continue.
“I was so worried about Alexia,” Richards told us. “I knew that [Mauricio] would do well or whatever, but I was really worried about my daughter, and I didn’t like that she got sucked into that.”
The “Halloween” star said she had “a lot of sleepless nights” when Mauricio, 56, and Alexia, 30, were off filming the show in the jungles of Malaysia.
“I kept texting the producers, saying, ‘Please, I need updates. Is my daughter OK? Is Mauricio OK? Just give me something,’” she recalled.
However, Richards — who announced her separation from Mauricio in July 2023 after 27 years of marriage — told us that Alexia was “excited” to participate in the show, noting that she takes after her father’s “adventurous” spirit.
This would not be the first time a parent-child duo of Bravo fame competed on “Special Forces.”
“The Real Housewives of New Jersey” star Teresa Giudice and her daughter Gia Giudice appeared in the show’s fourth season. While Teresa withdrew from the course in the second episode, Gia went on to win the season alongside Olympic gold medalist Shawn Johnson East.
Richards told “VRT” that she and Alexia were in touch with the Giudices before Season 5 began filming.
As for who else will be on the next season, Mauricio and Alexia will be joined by “Jon & Kate Plus 8” alum Collin Gosselin, “RHOBH” alum Brandi Glanville, “Selling Sunset” star Bre Tiesi, actress Candace Cameron Bure, former congressman George Santos and more.
“Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test” Season 5 premieres on Sept. 24 at 9 p.m. ET on FOX.
