Look, we don’t blame her…
Kristin Chenoweth went on Kelly Ripa’s podcast Wednesday, and was prodded into telling a story that she “doesn’t really talk about much.”
In fact, she gave props to the producer for the research she must have done to even know to ask about in the first place! But, yes, she confessed, she did date Prince, and yes, he did fawn over her vocal talents.
But, she said, she doesn’t talk about it, because: “I cherish my friendships with people and I don’t need to advertise stuff, and I don’t want them to feel weird about it.”
Very classy!
So she keeps it zipped — except that time in 2016 when she did tell ABC News about it after he died, saying, that during the date at his LA house, “He said ‘Can I tell you what inspires me?’ And I said, ‘Sure!’ And we went down to his movie room and he played my aria from this opera ‘Candide.’”
Oh, and there was also that time in November 2021 she told the story on Fallon, adding that, after the rock god played the opera clip, he said, “What you do [with your voice] is what I like to do with my guitar.”
And, now we think about it, there was also kinda that one other time in February 2021 on Drew Barrymore’s show when she told the aria yarn again.
But other than that, not a word passes her lips about the entire matter!
